The Vera and Chaim Weizmann Honor Society closed out 2021 with a virtual event for Honor Society members with updates on The Institute’s remarkable achievements of the past year, and to preview some exciting projects on the horizon.
Honor Society Co-Chairs, Vera and Dr. John Schwartz, opened the event by welcoming participants and introducing Vice President of Personalized Philanthropy Stacy Sulman, and CEO Dave Doneson, who engaged in a conversation about the important work Weizmann scientists are doing in areas ranging from cancer and immunotherapy, to neuroscience and astrophysics.
Dave touched on some key international partnerships that will yield important discoveries moving forward, including the historic collaboration between the Weizmann Institute and Mohamed bin Zayed University in Dubai, centering on Artificial Intelligence research. He also discussed the recent announcement that Weizmann will be representing the Israeli scientific community as a member of the Giant Magellan Telescope Consortium, a project that will provide unprecedented views into our universe.
