President Prof. Alon Chen welcomes us to the 72nd Annual Meeting of the International Board of the Weizmann Institute of Science.
Prof. Chen conveys how the Institute responded to the pandemic, from more than 60 scientists pivoting to tackle the coronavirus to researchers learning to collaborate virtually. He also addresses some of the Institute’s future directions – such as internationalizing the campus. The latter includes construction of the new US-Weizmann International Residence, which will house postdoctoral researchers from around the world. Programs are also underway to promote diversity and increase the number of female scientists.
